Young Composer Scholarship

We’re excited to have chosen a winner of the Saskatoon RMT Young Composer Scholarship.  The winner will receive their scholarship at our April concert, where we’ll also be featuring a composition by our winner.

Thanks to the Saskatoon RMT for offering the scholarship!

Our April Concert will be on the 10th at 7:30 in the evening.  The Concert takes place at Grosvenor Park United Church.  Admission is by donation.

Classical Variety Night

It’s almost February, which means our next concert is coming up pretty soon.  We’d love to see you in the audience!

The next concert is February the 7th at 2:30 p.m.

Venue: Grosvenor Park United Church

Admission by Donation.

This concert is going to feature some local ensembles as well as soloists.  We’re looking forward to seeing The Newman Sounds, Molto Cellissimo as well as a number of soloists.   Come enjoy seeing local performers playing music they love!

5th season special announcement:
Fundraiser silent auction.

Item for auction: 2 tickets to a Symphony Orchestra concert in the 2015/16 season (voucher may be redeemed for any Symphony concert between September to December).

The money raised by this fundraiser will be go to our commission project. This will be the 2nd commission by the Galliard Foundation. We look forward to continuing to support local, Saskatoon Composers.

How to participate:
The silent auction will be pinned to the top of our Facebook page with new bids being added as they are received (placed by time stamp)

Bid amount

Bidding starts at $20 incrementing at $5 (voucher has an estimated value of $135).

Raffle runs from August 8th – August 22 at 7pm. The winner will be contacted and made public by August 24.

Announcement for young composers

As part of our 5th season, we are excited to announce the Saskatoon Registered Music Teacher’s Association Young Composer scholarship.

Details:

  • Any student composers in grade 12 or under is eligible and can submit their application online or through their music teacher.
  • Applicants do not have to be students of an RMT.
  • Applications are due by October 31st.

The winner will be featured at the April 2016 concert where the piece will be premiered. Details of the performance to be worked out with the composer.

Season 5

We’re looking forward to our upcoming Season five.  We’re working hard on the opening concert of our fifth season, and you’ll have lots of good music to look forward to.
