Composition Projects

In addition to our Classical Variety Night concerts, we commissioned a composition in 2015 from Janet Gieck.  The piece is called Dream Sequence and is a two movement piece for flute, clarinet, and piano.  You can find more information about it on the composer’s website.  This piece was performed at our Feruary 2015 concert.

As part of our 5th season, we we also offered the Saskatoon Registered Music Teacher’s Association Young Composer scholarship to a student composer from Saskatoon.  The winner was Alexander Tosh with his piece A Dark and Stormy Night, which was for string quartet.  This piece was performed at our April 2016 concert.  Special thanks to the Saskatoon branch of the RMT for their generous donation of this scholarship!
